Soyjak never finds rest. At times, he may collapse from exhaustion, but his pride will not permit him to do what is necessary to truly be refreshed. He forces himself to stand at his Standing Desk “Battle Station”, trying to work, but rather than growing stronger legs and losing weight, he becomes oddly shaped and his circulatory system struggles. He tries to optimize “exercise time” by listening to podcasts, often created by other soymen, to work on better optimizing his life. But rather than finding gains, he finds that his head is filled with conflicting frameworks and ideas and that he is left alone, alienating all those around him by his strange habits and failure to pass the “vibe check”.
Life passes Soyjak by. He cannot properly celebrate when others are celebrating (he chose to “study” rather than go to parties) nor can he empathize with others’ struggles (he found that the easiest way to never lose was to never participate). Rather, he toils away in his Soycave, gaining little soy victories here and there (YESS!!! MY PROGRAM COMPILED). He wins a few battles, if he describes them in his terms, but even these battles he does win come at great cost.
Unwilling to celebrate with others, Soyjak tries to “treat himself” and steal little pleasures here and there for himself. He tries to comfort himself by telling himself he is “hacking” or “outsmarting” the system somehow, while he worships a hamburger he is “appreciating” as much as a five-star restaurant. He sees himself as being smarter than those who, in his eyes, waste their money on luxuries. He enjoys his “micro-luxury” for a fraction of the cost (in USD). He has his own budget “paradise”.
Soyjak cannot play will with others, but he gets his own enjoyment from playing some piano from time to time in his own way. Soyjak does not play concerts nor does he play what other people want to hear. He is a DJ that plays music he likes, and he does so again and again. Soyjak may play piano for hours. Some weeks, he has practiced in every free moment after his required daily tasks; yet Soyjak does not improve much in his playing. Perhaps this is because he is more or less content where he is, though he says that he would like to improve. Moreso than improve, it seems like he would like to just continue what he is doing, though his castles of Soy are slowly being eaten by the tides of time.
Soyjak won’t rest from being the Soyjak he imagines he can be, and so he leaves no room for correction outside of his own soy logic and soy reasoning. Occasionally, he’ll update his assumptions (usually as the Science ™ recommends), but his overall disposition remains firm tofu. Soyjak can be adjusted like settings in Windows, but he will not install Linux. Just kidding, Soyjak uses Linux and would rather spend endless hours configuring Linux than stooping to your level and using Windows.
Soyjak rages against the “dying of the light”. Soyjak rejects the Cross.
